HRV & Ventilation Cleaning Ingersoll, ON
For an HRV or ventilation-cleaning project in Ingersoll, list the equipment and exhaust routes you want assessed: the heat-recovery core, filters or screens, condensate drain, and bathroom or kitchen ducting may require different access. Photograph the unit label, visible connections, grilles, and outdoor terminations. Ask whether the core is removable, how the drain will be checked, and whether exhaust runs will be brushed from grille to cap. If airflow or moisture is a concern, record when and where it occurs; cleaning alone may not explain the cause.
Are ventilation fans running without the airflow you expect?
A loaded core, obstructed exhaust, drain issue, or another fault may be involved. Identify the affected equipment and ask what inspection and cleaning steps the scope includes.
Review Core and Drain Access
Ask whether the HRV core can be removed for cleaning and whether its condensate path will be inspected for blockage or drainage problems. Photograph the unit, drain connection, and any visible water before the visit. A drain fault can have a different cause from a dirty core, so clarifying both checks helps prevent cleaning from being mistaken for a complete moisture diagnosis.
Trace Each Exhaust Run
List the bathroom and kitchen exhausts to be considered, and photograph their grilles and accessible outdoor caps. Ask whether brushing will cover each run from grille to termination, and how the work will account for bends or restricted access. Different ducts may have different routes, so confirming each one avoids assuming that service at a fan or grille clears the full length.
Confirm Filters and Maintenance Details
Record the filter or screen size, location, and replacement history, then compare those details with the equipment label or manual. Ask what filter arrangement the unit requires and what inspection interval is suitable for its use and conditions. A maintenance plan should reflect the actual model and household needs, rather than assuming a single schedule fits every HRV or ventilation system.
